Ever since I started Whisker Snaps, this blog has been a little neglected. For now, I'm going to just post everything on the Whisker Snaps blog, so head over there for the latest and greatest.
I have been meaning to do this for so long. Here is a look at my house!
Living room.
My grandmother's glasses.
Dining room.
Den.
My favorite piece of furniture. Found at the flea market. Made in Germany 100+ years ago.
Concrete floors...
...and concrete counters!
Office. My grandmother's rug.
These knobs are original to the house, which was built in 1949. They are in almost every room. I love how the paint is chipping.
Original bathroom tile.
Hallway. My grandfather's hangers.
Bedroom. The picture is my mom. The larger frame is a paper my uncle wrote when he was little about his family. He said my mom (his little sister) is annoying.
(mary-kate and ashley movies were a big deal in our house)
My grandmother has lived in the same house all my life, and very little has changed. We've made so many good memories there. When I was there this weekend, I took some pictures of my favorite details of her house.
See pictures from my other grandmother's house here. Update: my cousin is living there for now, so we're not getting rid of it just yet!
Last week we made a last minute decision to spend a few days in Hot Springs, Ark., before Hank starts school.
Crossing the old Memphis - Arkansas bridge.
I didn't realize quite how literal the city name is. You can see the actual springs, where the water is just under boiling.
The city was built around a row of enormous bath houses. People came from all over to take a bath in the springs. Only two of the houses are still open for business, and one has been turned into a museum.
Hot Springs has quite the selection of steak houses, some right on Lake Hamilton.
We went to a little theme park, where for some reason I decided to ride this. Horrifying due to my trust issues with safety restraints. Scroll down to watch it in action, and you'll see why.
We found a cute little diner where we had the best sundaes ever.
The end of summer is so bittersweet, don't you think?
I'm a newspaper writer turned print designer turned photographer. My favorite subjects are my four pups, but stay tuned as I also document my travels, cooking endeavors, decorating efforts and adventures in the bluff city.
Well, look at you with your movie song skills. More than a quarter of you
